Purpose

This course is designed for students who are interested in a career in hairdressing and beauty care. Students will study and practise all aspects of women's and men's hairdressing and beauty care to include skin care, eye treatments and make-up. Students spend 50% of the time in class getting theoretical knowledge and the other 50% of the time in practical hands-on experience in the a hair salon.

Students in this course learn about cutting and styling hair of all types. Typical razors, clippers, scissors and combs are introduced, and students learn when and how to use them. Students learn styling techniques and hair finishing options. At the conclusion of this class, students are prepared to perform hair cutting techniques appropriate for all lengths of hair and for male and female clients.

Cultural activities

In the middle of the course, mainly on Wednesday, a local cultural activity is organised (e.g guided tour to the city) giving the participants the chance to explore the main attractions and enhance their cultural awareness.

The courses are always organised at a time period which is agreed in advance with the participants and taking into consideration the availability of the trainer.
